Well, I think this is fantastic! My wife and I do a lot of the same things from the standpoint of communication -- being able to talk about things, including sex, writing erotica, massage and toys and things. We have very open conversations about what we're interested in or would like to try, but honestly, more often than not, we just end up on top of each other and enjoying that. It's sort of a joke between us because we have a few toys and whatnot, but we never use them. We're open and honest, and we express things, but quiet (or not-so-quiet) intimacy is where we end up.
As this is my second marriage, I definitely see the wisdom in everything you have listed and discussed. I could never have had those conversations with my first wife. It's really about connecting with the right person, then doing the work day in and day out to maintain and grow that connection. Relationships require persistence, patience, and presence; any good relationship has all three. The rest, well, you just have to talk about it and see. ;)
Very interesting! I am currently not in a relationship but this gave me a lot to think about!
Love hearing that AND this can also be applied to the erotic things you want to explore for yourself :)
This is really nice!
